Continuing
Education IS for ALL ages..
Please note that - our fitness classes are now open to individuals 14 years of age and up. For all other courses - unless otherwise specified in a course title or description, or if a course is included in the "Children & Youth" category - all EdVentures Continuing Education programs are for individuals 18 years of age and up.
Fees
Registration is not complete or your space confirmed until your
fees are paid in full. Payment may be made by cash,
cheque, Visa, Mastercard or Interac. If
you are paying by cheque, make it payable to: "River
East Transcona School Division" and send it to the
address indicated on the registration form.
Refunds
Full refunds will be issued for courses cancelled due to insufficient
enrolment. You may choose to use the refund toward the fee for
another course.
Refunds are also available if you choose to voluntarily withdraw from a course before it starts. Please note that a $10 administration charge
will be deducted from your refund. Refunds are not granted after
a course begins or for a one-session class. Note:
Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal.

Confirmation
WILL NOT be phoned or mailed, please attend the first class as
advertised. If registering by fax, please confirm by phone. We
will contact you ONLY if your course is cancelled. Registration
is not complete until fees are paid in full.
Right
to cancel/postpone classes
River East Transcona Continuing Education
reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses or specific class
sessions due to unavailability of instructors, prior claim to
facilities by a school, insufficient enrollment, inclement weather,
statutory holidays or emergencies**.
For unscheduled cancellations/postponements,
reasonable effort will be made, depending on the length of notice
the Continuing Education Office receives, to notify participants
prior to the session(s) affected. Normally, postponed classes
will be "made-up" at the end of the course. Occasionally,
due to unforesen circumstances, instructor may be different than
instructor listed in brochure.
**NOTE: Compensation will not be provided to students who - because of scheduling conflicts - cannot attend a scheduled class or a class that has to be rescheduled.
What
if my employer is paying for my course?
We
require authorization on company letterhead and we will invoice
your employer. Payment must be confirmed before students attend their course.
Which
room is my course in? Which entrance do I use?
If
not stated in the brochure, at the first session, the room numbers
will be posted at the entrance door(s) nearest the parking lots
of the schools where courses are scheduled.
NOTE:
Please use rear entrance door (S.E.) at Murdoch MacKay Collegiate.
Classes are held in South East wing of school. Parking available
at back of school.
ALL
OTHER LOCATIONS:
Usually the school door closest to the gym, or the front door
is open for the 15 minutes before your class begins, and 15 minutes
after it has begun only, except for classes located in high schools.
Exception may apply. Contact the office if you would like to confirm
which entrance to use for your course location. When you arrive
at the school, check the time and location of your registration,
and always try another door, if the door you try is locked.
Duplicate
course mark reports, certificates or receipts for Continuing Education courses
Please
retain your course receipts, certificates and course reports. Charges apply for requests for any re-prints of the following. Note that processing may require up to two weeks.
Duplicate receipts - $5 per receipt.
Duplicate certificates or reports- $10 per certificate.
